Talking Surface Linux

Hey guys new here. Hopefullyi am posting this in the right category.

So i got myself the new surface go as a replacement for my i7 spectre (yes i know). and i purposely ordered it without the keyboard ( i did get the mouse). After considerable time configuring the system i was able to get a fairly touch responsive setup with an incredible experience fwiw. I hope to improve on this system in the future

I got browser swiping, a responsive app menu, custom discord emotes and more working beautifully. even brave ( chrome based browser) is fast and snappy. It works like i charm although my onscreen typing accuracy could improve lol.

below is a video showing the system in action, using only the touchscreen.

SPECS:
surface go 8gb - 128ssd
kubuntu - plasma 5
jakedays kernals
onboard - on screen kb
custom kde widgets.

SYS RESOURCES:
530mb of ram on idle
1% cpu on idle

are you filling up the bathtub and making sure you have your receipt and original packaging just in case?

I'm leery in getting one of the thin laptops, afraid I'd burn up the cpu due to no fan.

Gnome is suppose to be touch screen friendly, I thought? Just curious if it is or not!
