Linux mint 19 installed Calibre 3.28. tried to connect Kindle but doesn't show up.
Kindle properties>permissions Permissions of "internal storage" could not be determined.
When I open Calibre it keeps going thru welcome wizard.
Debug info: No IP address found No device connected.
no experience with kindle; does your file manager see it?
or is the problem calibre-specific?
please provide us with the following output:
in a maximised terminal window, enter
Code:
dmesg -w
then hold down the <Enter> key to make the output go away.
then plug in the kindle.
wait a few seconds.
copy-paste all the NEW output you got here.
use code tags for that.
either you're running from the live session, or something is seriously wrong with your install.
are you sure you actually installed mint to your hard drive?
Sorry took so long to answer. I reinstalled Linux mint 19. Seems to be good. Yes I checked bios make sure on hard drive.
I think when I attach kindle via usb it makes a folder and is not recognized by calibre.
When I opened Calibre does not show all external hd I have one for all my downloads (books).
Sorry not very good with the Terminal learn as I go.
Success! I found a thread where somebody changed the usb cable for the Kindle and it connects to the Calibre.
Who knew!
Thanks to all for your help.
This baby solved, hope it helps somebody else.
