VPN - remote desktop display

I installed Ubuntu at my workplace. I have VPN access and I can login to my work-pc using SSH . But I am not able to open graphics apps like eclipse/python IDE or LibreOffice apps. I am using MacOS X at home.
Is is possible to export graphic display on a mac machine (and on VPN network)?

Hi, welcome to LQ!

You should be able to, if your Mac has the X11 compatibility stuff installed.
As this is a Mac-question rather than a Linux one I'm moving this to other *nix.
