linksys DHCP same every time

is there a way to make a linksys router give the same DHCP ip address to the same computer every time? for example if there are 2 computers connected, it will be like this

comp1: 192.168.1.100
comp2: 192.168.1.101

if comp 1 and 2 shut down and just comp2 restarts it will be

comp2: 192.168.1.100

how can i make it so comp2 will always be 192.168.1.101

i'm sure there is; most wireless routers have this functionality. consult the manual that came with your linksys, or browse their webpage. alternatively, linksys's (i think; i've worked with but never owned; caveat emptor) have a webserver built into them. point your browser to 192.168.0.1 (or 192.168.1.1? dunno its default) bum around in the gui configs for something like "static dhcp".

I'm afraid most basic Linksys Routers, don't have this. The best way to do what you want is to turn of DHCP and set the static ip's yourself.

What I do is set the minimum IP addresses that the DHCP service will give out to around 25 to 50. Then use the unused IP addresses after that number. This makes sure your static (permanent) IP address does not effect other computers on your network trying to get an IP address through DHCP services. If you set the number to 50. Use 192.168.1.151 and up to 192.168.1.255. Using 192.168.1.255 should not be used.
