Raspberry Pi and Huawei e3131 modems, speed problem

Hello!

I'm trying to create little home server based on Raspberry Pi 4 with Huawei e3131 modems.

At first glance everything looks correct, i have two network interfaces ppp0 and ppp1, wvdial, routing works well etc. When i started using these interfaces i found issue with connections speed. In short, speed of two modems used in this same time is lower than single one...

I'm not expert with networks, linux etc. and i can't find any informations about it.

How to find why my modems are "limited" or what i did wrong?

Below is my configuration:

ifconfig
Quote:
ppp0: flags=4305<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING,NOARP,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 100.113.170.144 netmask 255.255.255.255 destination 10.64.64.64
ppp txqueuelen 3 (Point-to-Point Protocol)
RX packets 10384 bytes 9099105 (8.6 MiB)
RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets 10130 bytes 943812 (921.6 KiB)
TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0

ppp1: flags=4305<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING,NOARP,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 100.81.212.147 netmask 255.255.255.255 destination 10.64.64.65
ppp txqueuelen 3 (Point-to-Point Protocol)
RX packets 33572 bytes 32512195 (31.0 MiB)
RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets 26854 bytes 2536540 (2.4 MiB)
TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0
ip route show

Are these serial modems? Over what medium?

Back in the very early days of windoze, You would use a modem over a telephone line. My first modem did 2400 bps (Yes, bits per second). I got on the internet with a floppy from a PC magazine and a trunk call. It all sounds ridiculous now.

Anyhow, there's a technique known as 'bridging' for when the you want to use 2 slow interfaces to make 1 faster one. Knock yourself out. There should be plenty online. I can't help much.

Two modems don't make it twice as fast unless you have a special setup even if you have two LTE connections that allow tethering.

Two modems I'd guess on a PI will just take more resources. Use top to see resources to start.
