Shouldn't smartctl -t long /dev/sdx make the drive make noise?

Once again, and this is the last reply I will make about it, what I quoted above could be viewed as an insult. And no, I'm not saying you mean to "insult", but that's how it could come off and be taken.

I was quoting him!! And you're saying I'm the one "insulting". So it's not insulting when he says it to me but it is when I use his vernacular?

For crying out loud, and while this really IS the last reply I'm going to make in this thread; go back and READ what I said - I cannot be any plainer than that. Your questions have been answered, why get bogged down in a argument that's not even worth having ?? If you think I've always agreed with ondoho (or he's always agreed with myself), you're very much mistaken. Just drop it and move on with your life. It's NOT a contest about who's landed the biggest "insult", just forget about it and move on, please.

Over and out.
I was completely done with posting comments until he responded! Look at the comment I made right above his accusation comment- I said I'd run it tonight while I sleep and I left it at that. What you're saying is that I shouldn't have responded to his accusation that I didn't do an research before posting? Um, no, I'm not going to let accusations like that go.
Would you? I'd be surprised if most people would just let that accusation go.
