I have a 1U SuperMicro server with the SuperMicro X9DRW-3LN4F+/X9DRW-3TF+ motherboard installed. It's currently running SLES 11SP3. I'd really like to install SLES 12. According to the SuperMicro website SLES 12 is not supported by this motherboard. Not surprisingly trying a standard install from DVD does not work.
I realize this would not be a supported configuration but has anyone here found a work around to get the install to work?

Often times manufacturers do not have time to test all of their products with latest OSes. I understand SLES12 is by no means "latest".
What happened when you tried to install SLES 12 on this machine? Any errors?
When I tried to do the install, the system starts to boot, messages scroll by on the screen as expected, then the screen blacks out, and it reboots. There really isn't time to see any error message.

So, you never get to YaST? This only happens with SLES12? Have you tried different DVD of SLES12 (incase if it is bad)?
What about with latest SLES11 SP3 DVD?
I am curious, since there is an upgrade path from SLES11SP3 to SLES12, have you tried to install SLES11SP3 then add SLES12 ISO to repo and run upgrade?
