Hi all,
I'm interested in networking and I wish to set up a system that can analyse my daily traffic activities so I better can understand the inner workings of networking.
I tried Downloading Debian 9, but unfortunately, it does not support Bro (see
this). It is an Intrusion Detection System (IDS), so therefore rather essential to network analyses.
Debian 8 is supported though, but I can't seem to find a full .iso download on the official Debian site. Is it still being maintained?
According to Bro (see
this) a lot of ubuntu releases are supported, but I don't wish to have ANY kind of commercial software pre installed on the system (I'm talking about Amazon here).
I also need to run Wireshark and nmap.
Wich distro would you recommend to serve me best for my networking analyses purposes?
