acme-client fails in OpenBSD 6.3-current (snapshots)

The acme-client fails in OpenBSD 6.3-current (GENERIC) #663: Sat Jun 16 17:08:24 MDT 2018. It should have run yesterday via my weekly.local script, but could not. It also fails when run manually.

How do I get around this and renew a certificate or acquire a new one?

Code:
# uname -prsv
OpenBSD 6.3 GENERIC#663 i386

# acme-client -vAD www.example.com
acme-client: /etc/ssl/private/www.example.com.key: domain key exists (not creating)
acme-client: /etc/acme/letsencrypt-privkey.pem: account key exists (not creating)
acme-client: /etc/acme/letsencrypt-privkey.pem: PEM_read_PrivateKeyacme-client:
/etc/ssl/www.example.com.crt: certificate renewable: 0 days left
1576125328:error:09FFF06C:PEM routines:CRYPTO_internal:no start line:/usr/src/lib/libcrypto/pem/pem_lib.c:683:Expecting: ANY PRIVATE KEY
acme-client: bad exit: acctproc(36464): 1

It turned out that on 2018-06-13 the httpd.conf(5) 'root strip' option was renamed to 'request strip'. That caused problems for the particular directories used by acme-client until I updated the httpd(8) configuration. So that's a step forward.
