Sabayon Boot Up Taking over 20+ Minutes
 

Hi all,

I downloaded and installed Sabayon 8 from the following link
http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/s..._8_amd64_K.iso

Chose the default partitioning options, and then on re-boot it took less than a minute to boot into KDE.

I have then proceeded to update entropy, and update all my packages as per instructions for "Fresh Install - What to do?" http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php? ... t_to_do.3F

I have submitted the following bug report https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3130
(which has also an attachment of my configuration files).

Though I am yet to have a solution.

nb: I have an nvidia Geforce 7900 grahics card,
nb: Once the system has booted up, everything runs perfectly and super fast.

Wonder if it is checking the disk during this time? Dunno what might cause it.

I'd load some other distro and see if the system acts the same. I'd assume it could be an issue with how it initializes the drive or drive controller. Could be some borked memory even, some temperature deal.
