installing sabayon from usb
I've got a brand new asus eeepc 1015pem and I've decided to give sabayon a go however it would seem that installing from usb is not as easy as pie. I've tried various approaches, but no matter what I do I end up with the message:
No bootable medium found etc. as described here: http://www.gentoo-wiki.info/HOWTO_In...using_syslinux As I enterpret it som essential parts are missing in order to boot from usb, but after that I'm out of the game. I've tried just about everything, but nothing works. t this point I've got at prepared usb key that boots to the initial menu and all that, but when I try to boot sabayon or to install trouble starts at mdev with message previously mentioned. I don't know where to go from here. Guess I'm simply not clever enough, so I'll appreciate all the help you can provide. Best regards. |
I don`t know if you found the below page so here it is
http://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?ti...ning_The_Image I know it says to use Unetbootin. So just in case http://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?ti..._with_Syslinux Don`t know if this is relevant but throwing it out here anyhows http://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?title=GR:FAQ Edit: After reading through their wiki. They keep mentioning Unetbootin as the way to go for booting a Sabayon Pendrive. Which makes me suspect the problem may be with you pendrive. Like Sandisk Cruzer pendrives with read only U3 software installed on them which borks linux pendrive booting. |
It may be my pendrive. ill investigate further whenever possible. for now thanks for the reply.
