I just bought a Zaurus SL-5600, I try to connected to my computer running Red Hat but it will not recognize it. Why? I connected it to the usb port and reboot the system and press the sync button, nothing...

Depending on your kernel, you may or may not be able to get the Z to communicate with standard TCP/IP over the USB connection (basically you put the Z in the cradle and it acts like it's a normal network connection). The only software that the Z can actually do its 'syncing' with as far as I know is called Qtopia Desktop and that is rudimentery to say the least. Anyway, here are a couple of links on getting the Z to do standard TCP/IP through the cradle:

From there you can manually back files up or use rsync or something equivalent.
