Yum + Subversion = bad
I am trying to intall the latest version of Subversion on my RH Fedora box. If I do a
$>yum install subversion
I get the following:
...
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: libgcj.so.4 for package: gettext
--> Processing Dependency: libdb-4.0.so for package: apr-util
--> Restarting Dependency Resolution with new changes.
--> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait.
---> Package gettext.i386 0:0.14.1-12 set to be updated
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: libdb-4.0.so for package: apr-util
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: missing dep: libdb-4.0.so for pkg apr-util
However, libdb-4.0.so is in both /lib and /usr/lib. Its almost as if the libdb-4.0.so dependency is processed twice ... it passes the first time, but fails the second.
What the heck is going on here? I thought the whole point of Yum was that it managed dependencies ... if it is frickin missing one, why does it not go grab it?
