wrong upgrade of glibc . Can i go back to the correct version? RedHat 7.3
hello
I have Red Hat 7.3, and by error I upgraded glibc-2.2.5-34 to glibc-2.3.2-27.9.7 which is a version for red hat 9. I tried to upgrade back to the correct version, using many rpm options but i get segmentation fault. If you resolved the problem it would be very useful for me to know how. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.. |
You will need to find a copy of the actual original glibc library files (from backup?) and install them by hand by copying over the 2.3.2 files. Then you will need to reinstall the 2.2.5 library RPM to make sure that things are correct. You might also be able to use a rescue boot/root disk like tomsrtbt to do this since it will have its own libraries.
