workspace hotkey

Is there a hotkey to switch workspaces?

ctrl + F?
Where ? is the number of the workspace. For example, to switch to workspace 1, you would press ctrl + F1.

Oh, and you didn't mention what desktop enviroment you were using. This works for KDE, I don't know about Gnome.

Right, I found a post saying that and it didn't work. I'm using Gnome, I should have stated that. Any other ideas?
