Wireless card that works out of box with RH9?
Anyone know of a wireless card that works out of the box on RH9?

I'm looking for something simple and proven for my daughter's machine...

My Netgear MA401RA worked "almost" out of the box. It is supported. You just have to add 3 lines to /etc/pcmcia/config. A search on this site will find the instructions quickly.

Just FYI for anyone reading this post. I Found out that SMC makes a wireless "Ethernet Adapter". This cool device allowed me to connect to my local wireless network with ZERO configuration on my Linux box.

How it worked was I simply used a patch cable to plug-into the wireless Ethernet Adapter, then, using another PC and browser, configured the Adapter with the proper settings (Channel, WEP, etc) of my local wireless network.

Then, tried to connect using my Linux box and bingo: online and ready to go. Since RH9 automatically picked up my internal Ethernet card and set it up for DHCP, connecting was a no-brainer.

The device can also work as an additional access point or to setup your PS2, XBox, or printer to your local network as well (not all at the same time though, unless you connect to a switch our router instead of a computer).

All in all a very fancy device for ~$65 it was well worth the trouble and about the same as most wireless PCI cards.
