1. RHEL uses grub, not lilo

2. if you look into /boot/grub/grub.conf, you'll see lines like
Code:

        kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.32-279.14.1.el6.x86_64 ro root=UUID=7eaddad2-5314-40
a9-9db5-c4a6c9721233 rd_NO_LUKS  KEYBOARDTYPE=pc KEYTABLE=uk LANG=en_US.UTF-8 rd
_NO_MD quiet SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 rhgb crashkernel=auto rd_NO_LVM rd_NO_DM
        initrd /initramfs-2.6.32-279.14.1.el6.x86_64.img

which tells you the initrd file is actually called initramfs-.... ie in the /boot dir.
