view the logfile of outgoing email

I have installed amavis mailscanner with clam antivirus at my redhat 9 (
sendmail MTA ) ...but was unable to view the logfile..of my outgoing
email...I am able to send mail only :).....but not able to recieve
:(..........cause I can't find any logfile.... I found a file under the
amavis directory which was amavis configure file and there I find written at
one place which is as follows :

---------------------------------------------------------

#
# Logging

# yes - syslog, no - file logging
$DO_SYSLOG = "yes";

# Directory to put log entries (if not using syslog)
$LOGDIR = "/var/amavis";
$LOGFILE = "amavis.log";

# 0: default - startup/exit/failure messages
# 1: args passed from client
# 2: virus scanner output
# 3: server client
# 4: decompose parts
$log_level = 0;

-----------------------------------------------------------

Then I search for /var/amavis/amavis.log file but it was not found. I
created one file named amavis.log under /var/amavis directory but still
the file is showing 0 bytes after sending several email and also after
restarting PC.

I change the option $DO_SYSLOG = "yes"; to $DO_SYSLOG = "no"; ..but not worked...

Please help me to find out the logfile of amavis...

Have you checked your syslog since you enabled it as yes?

Actually I am not so expert....I have found following files while searching for syslog file..

[root@pc1 /]# find -name syslog
./var/lock/subsys/syslog
./etc/sysconfig/syslog
./etc/rc.d/init.d/syslog
./etc/logrotate.d/syslog
./mnt/c/progra~1/syslog
[root@pc1 /]#

which of these file I should check...

I have found another file which is /var/log/maillog....is this my logfile for outgoing email...?
