"can someone recommend me a video player that i can find in rpm format that is easy to install? with all the dependencies and stuff?"
/me rolls around on the floor, dying of laughter...
Oy.. that's a good one.. A video player.. with.. all dependecies.. lol. Your funny
You could have just used search for the forums and found out about xine or mplayer for a movie player. But oh well.. the answer is.
Xine or Mplayer
Packages, are up to you, the websites usually have links to various distros. All sites will tell you you need certain dependencies and basically your on your own for fullfilling those because everyone needs different things depending on what you have installed.
Xine is great, but I'm finding that the new releases don't support encrypted dvd's (so that rules out any store bought dvd's) due to Copyright laws. But if you can get Xine to work, it has amazing audio. Mplayer has amazing video.
Um, last I checked nothing supported encrypted dvd's unless you downloaded decss and did the little dance with it to make the computer read them... least I've always had to download and install a decrypter
I just downloaded the newest package for MPlayer last night, compiled it, installed a skin and a font, works fine. No problems with encryption. I've never had issues with MPlayer.
