VFS: Cannot open root device 08:01


hi all, i am installing RedHat 8.0 on Intel875wp1 server board which has SATA controller builtin. i have downloaded the driver for adapteh SATA from the intel's site and while installation loaded the driver properly.I have also configured the RAID (1) in bios.but after installation it displays the error like this and fails to boot

kmod:failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k block-major -8, error = 2
VFS :cannot open root device "sda1" or 08:01
please append a correct "root=" option boot option


i am sure that sda1 is my root drive.i need to change something in grub.cong?
now how i can change the boot option if it is not booting at all ? and if i got to change something then what shall i change?
please help me to solve this .
