update all fails, but individuals packages install/update just fine
*Please note that I verified my RHEL subscription and also have the same issue with Rocky 9, suspect hardware/BIOS issue, but don't know what it could actually be*
After finally deciding to move on from CentOS 7 and go Enterprise my my companies server, I built a new box and installed RHEL 9 on it. For reasons I can't figure out (obviously) every session locks up (as in I cant kill the command or exit out of the session, but I can open a new session right away with no issue) when doing certain commands, mainly trying to read a file with cat or vi (ie I cant see the log files to get any clues to the issue there.), ishw -short, or yum update. I can however update a specific packages such as httpd. Any ideas of whats going on and how to fix it? |
you need to check /var/log for any errors (hardware related). Also you can run memtest or anything else to check your hardware.
