Up2Date Question


Is it possible to upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1 using Up2Date? If so, could you tell me how to do it?

Actually I do not think this is going to be an easy process; just have a look at the following article:

RH seems to have a lot of work to do in this field...

No.

First of all, there won't be a 9.1. The successor of Red Hat Linux 9 will be Fedora Core 1.

Secondly, distribution upgrades with up2date (or apt-get) are neither tested nor guaranteed to work at all. The official upgrade path is with CD/bootdisk. During an upgrade, the installer might perform additional tasks compared with up2date or similar tools.

Howzit

Up2date is not used to upgrade versions but to update packages with bug and security issues if u want the latest version of RH then download from RH web site this files are normally iso formats. At the moment RH 9 is the latest release from RH.
