Unable to ftp from Windows computer
 
This is a new RH 9 install and I am a newbie. I am able to ftp from the server itself using ftp localhost but I am unable to ftp from my XP machine on my LAN. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

What errors are you getting in the ftp client on your windows machine?

Also, just while you are getting it working, ensure you have your firewall turned OFF. service iptables stop

Let me know your error message though.

Enabling FTP in the firewall fixed my problem. I'm an idiot. I guess when you use something new like linux you tend to look over the obvious. Thanks a million for your help.
