Trying to install Red Hat 7 on an old laptop.

I have a dell latitude lm p166 w/72Mb of ram and a 2 gig hd. I am trying to install Red Hat 7 on it, but my bios will not let me boot from CD-Rom. I have tried to copy the boot.img from CD1 onto a floppy but it is 1.4mb and my floppies say they are 1.44mb but only have 1.38mb worth of space even after a format. Is copying the boot.img from cd1 correct for a boot floppy? And are my floppies bunk or what? Help me! I can't stand to look at win98 anymore.

How are you "copying" the image? Are you using dd or rawrite.exe? If using dd check the readme file in the image or utils directory. It has been a long time but you might need to specify a bs.
