Question Training at RedHat for RHCE?

Hello everyone!
I am wondering if anybody here has ever taken the training courses for obtaining the Red Hat certification's of RHCT or RHCE ? I have my linux+ certificate, but now have the opportunity to go for the Red Hat cert's and wonder if the training course's are well worth $7000.00?

Hi....!

well....there u r....i found one who's thinking about RHCE...

DSteve, I am currently undergoing training for RHCE....and I am confused about my career......

The thing is, Linux is mostly used for Servers, and rest of the computers run Win98/2000/NT/XP......So that means, merely being an RHCE wont make me a true network/system administrator.....What should I do?? can u suggest anything? (I hold a PG degree in Computers)

By the way, the training material RedHat gives is aweful....My beginner level Unix book had more stuff than their introductory module 033....

So i feel that one should go for RHCE only when one is sponsored frm one's company..or else, one should directly register with RedHat and appear for the exam (although I am not very sure abt it as one does not know what kind of questions that may be asked in the RHCE exam....so thats why i have opted for training!)

If any of you guys have more information on the career prospects after completing RHCE....pls post your suggestions and ideas on this very thread itself..

thanks

I picked up a RHCE study guide for 12.98 a while ago - ok was the outdated version for 6.0 but I am sure there are also some of those for the newest version. At least you'll get an idea about the process from it.

if you still have window$ laying around...there is a free test simulator from whizlabs. of course it's a trial version and you hafta pay for the full version...blah blah blah. but it's worth a look. I used the M$ tests while I was preparing for my MCSE...and they were marvy!

if you don't wanna jump through the whizlabs hoops...you can also get it here. I wish you guys luck!
