Tomcat startup error in catalina.out

I'm trying to setup Tomcat 6 with Apache 2.2.4 on Redhat AS 3.

Apache has installed fine and is running.
RedHat doesn't have a J2SE loaded, so I've downloaded JDK 5.0 from Sun and installed it using:

Then I've run:
[root@mymachine:/usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.14-src/bin]$export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.5.0_12
[root@mymachine:/usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.14-src/bin]$mkdir /usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.14-src/logs
[root@mymachine:/usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.14-src/bin]$ ./ start
Using CATALINA_BASE: /usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.14-src
Using CATALINA_HOME: /usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.14-src
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.14-src/temp
Using JRE_HOME: /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_12

In catalina.out I'm getting the following error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/catalina/startup/Bootstrap

Any ideas?
Thanks, Cornish.
