The best resolution i get is an 640x480..... I don't know why?
I have just installed Red hat Linux 3.0 WS onto computers i am setting up in a lab where i work. The best resolution i can get is 640x480. Every icon and screen i pull up is huge and distorted. I have tried changing the bios from A02 to A03 and even A04. My video card is an Intel 865. I have installed an 810I driver on to the machine also. It does not work. Is there anyone who can help me?

Mmmmh... I had the same problem with RHEL3 at work; I'm almost sure I fixed it by allocating more memory to the video display (set it to 8192KB, it works fine). Unfortunately, I don't remember where to set it, but if you run across that, tweak it! :-)
Good luck! |
this may work
correct me if i am wrong, but try using xf86config and in there you should be able to manipulate the video card settings.
