TexLive
I am running Redhat Enterprise Linux on an HP dx5150 with an AMD Athlon 64 chip.
tetex is the default with Redhat and I have used it for a long time and am happy with it. I use Kile as an editor and find it wonderful. tetex is now a ``finished'' product and will no longer be supported. While I am happy at the current time, I am interested in moving to TexLive as it is a dynamic release that will be updated. Any easy ways to install TexLive on my computer and get it to work with KILE. I found some stuff about Ubuntu on the net but not much for Redhat. When I am forced to use a Windows machine (sometimes with students at work), I use Winedt with Miktex and find that acceptable.' |
I don't know the specifics because I have not installed TeX Live in a while. I recall that it was really straight forward; much simpler than pre-tex live distros, where you had a dependancy chain to deal with. What trouble are you having?
