System Freeze when loading up Enterprise
Hi all,
I have installed enterprise 9 but the following happens. When loading up the modules it gets to the usb module and my system locks up. I mean REALLY LOCKS UP. Would RAID effect the load up? Plez help. Any reply on this issue would be greatly appriciated. Thanks. I am running the following. AMD 64 3200+ K8V Asus MB 2x SATA 150 120GB HDD 1x 120 GB IDE100 HDD 1024MB Kingston DDR 466 The system config is as follows: Running the 2 SATA's as RAID 0. Running the ide as stand alone. Want to install enterprise onto the Stand alone. |
I bet $1.00 that SATA is your problem. Serial ATA support is not so great on Red Hat Linux 9. In fact, I don't tihink it's supported at all on that release, but dont' hold me to that. Try Fedora.
Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong. /me not a hardware dude. |
Have you tried to disable the USB devices in the USB devices in the /etc/modules/conf file? Get into rescue mode, then comment out the USB line in your modeuils.conf file and rebuild the initrd image. Save th old one just in case.
Also.....I wonder if the system is confusing your hardware. Please attach your modules.conf file so we can have a look. Maybe you need to re-order your drives so teh system detects them correctly. Not sure. |
