Syslog-ng versions available with Red Hat 6

I'm trying to update my syslog-ng OSE through EPEL. It looks like the only way to get syslog-ng v3.12 is from Red Hat 7. What is the latest version of syslog-ng OSE that is supported by Red Hat version 6?

you are aware that rhel6.9 is on security fises only
it is getting rather old now

as per what is normal for redhat
The major version of a program WILL NEVER CHANGE !!! over the 7 to 10 year lifespan od a major release version

the major version of "syslog-ng " in rhel 6.0 WILL be the same major version in the last rhel6.9

you can always build it from source

grab the redhat "development environment " tools from your rhn repo

Hi, for RHEL 6 the latest version of syslog-ng OSE is 3.9. That is available from this repo: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/co...log-ng39epel6/
