Question subscription-manager shows not subscribed

Hi,

Q1. I have register my server to redhat with rhn_register but still it is showing not subscribed :

Q2.Why it is receiving updates from ULN? not RHN? when running yum update

# subscription-manager list
+-------------------------------------------+
Installed Product Status
+-------------------------------------------+
Product Name: Red Hat Developer Toolset (for RHEL Server)
Product ID: 176
Version: 2.1
Arch: x86_64
Status: Not Subscribed
Status Details: Not supported by a valid subscription.
Starts:
Ends:

Product Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server
Product ID: 69
Version: 6.6
Arch: x86_64
Status: Not Subscribed
Status Details: Not supported by a valid subscription.
Starts:
Ends:

While running yum update it is showing below message:

# yum update
Loaded plugins: product-id, rhnplugin, security, subscription-manager
This system is receiving updates from ULN.
Setting up Update Process
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: rhel-x86_64-server-6. Please verify its path and try again

Why it is receiving updates from ULN? not RHN?

Sounds like it was originally built as a ULN system https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37670_01..._regu_uln.html ie its the Oracle (non-free) rebuild of RHEL.

You need to a) check the history of the system and the settings, then b) decide which company you want to pay for updates & support and convert as necessary.
Note that although you might(!) be able to force a system to switch/merge from one to the other, a) stability would be an issue and b) if you ever raise a support ticket, they'll both insist on a 'supported setup' which means a clean install, not a Frankenstein one...

Thanks chrism01,

For query 1:

Step 1 :
# subscription-manager register --username <user> --password <password> --auto-attach

Step 2 :
# subscription-manager list
+-------------------------------------------+
Installed Product Status
+-------------------------------------------+
Product Name: Red Hat Developer Toolset (for RHEL Server)

Version: 2.1
Arch: x86_64

Starts: 11/20/2009
Ends: 11/20/2030

Product Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server
Product ID: 69
Version: 6.6
Arch: x86_64
Status: Subscribed
Status Details:
Starts: 11/20/2009
Ends: 11/20/2030

For query 2:

It is not built as a ULN system, earlier I was getting updates from rhn only. I have made few changes which took me to the ULN, now this ULN issue have resolved below are my steps :

Step 1 : # yum clean all

Step 2 : # vi /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/rhnplugin.conf
[main]
enabled = 0 <--- changes this from 1 to 0
gpgcheck = 1
timeout = 120

Step 3 : # yum update
Loaded plugins: product-id, security, subscription-manager
