Startup screen resolution change | howto?
I am using Red Hat Linux 9.0 on a monitor with maximum resolution of 1024 * 768.
After the GRUB or LILO, Linux starts up displaying cute messages on a console. This console is most probably at a resolution of 640 * 480 on everyones' machine, as far as I know. Is there a way this resolution of the console can be changed to 1024 * 768? (BTW, you might have noticed during Red Hat Linux 9.0 installation, a 1024 * 768 resolution is used for the console.) Thanks in advance. |

I got it fixed. Now I am embarassed that I asked the question in such a stupid way. The actual question should have been "howto change the vga text mode from 80*25 to 80*50 or 132*50?"
Here is the answer http://www.halley.cc/ed/linux/howto/console.html |
