Speedtouch, kernel!?! ARGH!

I've been using RH for awhile now.

However few weeks ago I got Speedtouch 330 ADSL modem. I couldnt get it work, first due to my ISP, since they were lacking with info for VPI,VCI, and finally when I got it...

During boot screen:

Quote:
Code: of ob e2 o3 3f d7 25 c0 e9 77 fd ff 8d b4 00 00 00 00 <0> Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler! In interrupt handler - not syncing
Whatever I tried to do, couldnt fix it. This is the part that confuses me. After I completely destroyed partitions, and created new ones and installed RH9 all over again. First boot and same problem! How is this possible?

RH9/Shrike kernel: 2.4 20-8

I hate to be one of those "have you upgraded to the latest version?" people, but RH9 is absolutely ancient - you should be using Fedora 3 or newer with a 2.6 kernel. I've been nothing but happy with peripheral handling with my 2.6 kernel - 2.4 sucked! Upgrade.
