sound on intel 865

i have intel 865 gbf motherboard.
can anybody help me in configuring its sound on rh9?
will ALSA work on it?

zatka; does not RH recognize or accept it? or is motherboard supported?
maybe not recognized by bios check that out. if not you may to enable sound via bios. there are (4) reasons for devices not working, 1st Hardware issue, 2nd kernel module issues, 3rd permission issues, 4th configuration issues. check each untill most all are ok then the one that is not is where problem needs to removed or repaired, drivers may be needed. check with intel for workaround or drivers. that is great site for support on their products.

That should have onboard AC97 audio.

Try modprobe ac97_codec.
