My GNOME just starited to do strange things. When i am loged as root it is imposible to working at all couse everything (panels, windows...) are moveing and even without clicking with mouse it start programs and pop-up menus and move the windows. Yesterday i copyed one huge .tar file (4G) via LAN and GNOME started with his madness, but i was thinking that everything will be ok after this file-transfer. But it wasnt. Today ive already restarted the system but after the restart the situation was the same shit. What is happen, i have no a idea. Please sombody to help!

1) You should not be logged in as root without good reason. You can use su to run commands as root from a normal user login. Running arbitrary software as root can make you very vunerable to things like malicious intruders and viruses as well as serious software bugs causing more damage.

2) The problems you are encountering are probably due to your mouse driver not matching your mouse. As you didn't say what kind of mouse you are using, or have configured, I can't be more specific. Try other combinations in /etc/X11/XF86Config.

It is possible the problems to be in my /root/.gnome . One friend of me told me to delete this file couse maybe it is incorect after the file transfer or the .tar archiving. im not shure that this is so safty. And is it possible really my driver of mouse to be fucked:P My mouse is normal logitech PS/2. In wich way to concentrate my view to solve this problem? 10x

You can use the su command to switch to the root user account to edit individual files like /etc/smb.conf. Logging in as a root user gives you superuser privilages, which means that any process you run can do anything it wants; if a bug (or virus, or memory glitch) in one program makes it kill another program instead of a child thread (for instance) then it will just go ahead and kill the innocent process.

If you delete the .gnome file, all your personal GNOME settings will be restored to defaults.

As to fixing your mouse, what version of X are you using? Find the documentation for it, with regard to mice drivers, and make sure that you have the correct driver set up in your XF86Config file.
