some assistance please!!

Iam new to linux. am trying to configure a Redhat linux server for our internal network. I am yet to understand the different server options for Redhat. I want to configure this server such that it becomes a Domain on its own which I can join windows clients. first of all I we have a Windows server 2003 PDC, but i want to set this one to be a domain on its own, not a standalone server. Is this possible and if so what are the options and configurations.

Thanks.

The tool to do Windows interoperability in UNIX/Linux is Samba.

This site may help you:

When you ask a question it will help us a lot if you tell s the distro, version, and arch, of what you are running. Saying RedHat linux does not really help much. There is RH9 (very old), RHEL5.3(current), and tons of options between the two.

There are tons of options available. While Samba/cifs is a common one, you may want to provide more specific detail about what you want to do in order for us to better evaluate how we can bet help you.
