I just added RH9 to a system that also has Win/XP installed. I used grub to setup the boot process.

Everything is working fine EXCEPT that anytime I shutdown Linux (using shutdown -h), the system shutsdown, seems to poweroff, and then reboots.

If I "Turn off" Win/XP, it does as expected and powers off the system.

I have another RH9 system that does as expected and powers off.

My guess is an incompatibility between Linux and the hardware poweroff
interface. The machine is a Compaq Evo D300v and is setup to do WOL which works fine if I powerdown using Win/XP. Obviously I can't try it after a Linux poweroff since it doesn't.

Any thoughts?

Try going into the BIOS and turning off the BIOS power management.
