SCP stalled (spurious retransmission)

Hi guys,

I have problem with copying files on my server via SCP.
I have two virtual servers. One with Red Hat and one with Solaris.
If I copy large file on my RHEL server, after few seconds the connection is -stalled- ..
On the same network segment if I copy the same file to Solaris server, everything works fine.

I tried tcpdump on RHEL and in Wireshark found [TCP Spurious Retransmisson] and [TCP Dup ACK] packets...
They are behind the same firewall, behind the same interface. Problem is even if I copy from Solaris to RHEL...

Please does anybody have a hint ?
Thank you.

Try to do it the other way round:
1) Login to the RHEL server,
2) scp <user>@<source-ip-address>:/<path-to-source-folder>/<large-file> <local destionation>

Seems to be a network issue:
(1) try to ping the RHEL server by sending large buffer size packets:

From Linux system:
ping <ip-address> -s 65500

From windows:
ping -l 65500 -t <ip-address>

If there is a drop, try to reduce the packet size until you get continous Reply.
