Scientific Linux on latest intel hardware

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with Scientific Linux on the Intel DP67BG motherboards?

I'm currently running Fedora 16 on this hardware without any problems but I'm tired of the quick support cycles for Fedora.

I considering a switch to Scientific Linux ( a flavor of RHEL ) but wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with this distribution as a workstation OS.

Here is my hardware:
- Intel DP67BG (revised)
- Intel Sand Bridge Core i7 2600K
- Nvidia GeForce 460 video card by MSI
- 16GB Corsair Vengeance 8GB (4 sticks)
- SATA III harddrive 300GB

I would be using KDE (preferably) as the Desktop environment.
And I would probably install the Nvidia binary drivers for the video card.

Has anyone used Scientific Linux, or RHEL on this hardware before? Any glitches or issues?

How about the OS in general? Should I use CentOS instead?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

I have SL6 running just fine on a i5 cpu 8 gig ram and nvidia gts 240

RHEL6/CentOS6/SL6 use gnome2 ( not gnome3) and kde4 can be installed

the "Sand Bridge" support is not in the rhel 2.6 kernel
so no using that part of it

Thanks for the input.

What does that mean exactly? I won't have 8 cores available to me like I do in Fedora ?
