RPM deployment tool
Hello,
We have a bunch of RHEL 4 & 5 (x86 & x86-64) servers and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good package deployment tool. This tool should ideally provide server grouping facilities so that we could deploy RPMs to a group of servers on a per need basis. I'm aware of up2date and yum and their dependency resolution capabilities but I was wondering if there is any tool out there with similar capabilities. If not, I would be interested in knowing of any alternatives. I apologize if a question similar to this one was posed in another thread that I may have inadvertently missed out. Thanks, |
You might want to look into Redhat's Satellite server.

jilightner is right...also if you want to try out Red Hat's Satellite server before you buy; you can take a look at Spacewalk...
http://www.redhat.com/spacewalk Spacewalk is the "free" version... |
Thank you both for the quick response. I definitely will give Spacewalk a try.
