RHEL4: Server vs Workstation
Hi all,
I would like to know if there is a difference between RHEL-ES server version and RHEL-WS workstation version. I installed both as virtual machines (in VMWare) and did not find any differences. The difference is only in the price of the support package? Thanks, []s, Hatuey |
yep you got it, just support. this is to such an extent that if you were too look at centos, a freeificated version of rhel, then you get an added screen asking which version you want to install (ws, es, as) with a standard set of disks. the underlying subsystem is utterly identical.

I've been using centos for a while on my test/devel box and just wondering if there are any issues with using the os for a production box. any fundamental differences besides the branding and support? thanks.

hi
yes there is diff. in WS & ES version. In WS some rpm are not available like vsftpd, caching name server, ypserv, comp all these rpm are available in ES. Only this is diff. |
