RHEL training material changed in the last few years?
Our group is considering some training for RHEL. We have some course material from a couple of years ago (early 2007), i.e. the binders used in the instructor-led classes. The question is, for new personnel that need to get familiar with Linux admin, is it sufficient to go through those binders, or has RHEL or the course contents changed enough that it would justify paying a few thousand dollars to get the new training offered today by Red Hat?
Since RHEL 5 came out in March 2007, the old training material probably dates to that particular version. Has there been enough new stuff added through 5.5 to make a significant difference?
The classes we’re looking at are these below, with their costs.
RH033 RHEL Essentials 24 hours $1,120
RH131 RHEL System Administration 32 hours $1,620
RH253 RHEL Networking and Security 32 hours $1,620
