RHEL reboot after power disruption issues

So I have 2 machines, similar to eachother, both with identical grub.conf files. They sit next to eachother and are subject to the same conditions.

Machine 1 always reboots properly after power is restored.

Machine 2(the more important one... figures) sometimes does not, although sometimes it will. I suspect it is related to the duration of the power outage(shorter periods being more likely to work) but I have not done repeated such tests to say for sure.

This is a new thing for me so I don't even really know where to look next, or even whether it is software or hardware. Any help?

Thanks!

Based on what you posted, we sure can't tell you where to look next either. All we know is you have two machines, running some version of RHEL. That's the total extent of the details you've provided. Without details, there's nothing we can tell you.

Since you're using RHEL, your best bet would be to use the Red Hat support you're paying for, and ask them for assistance. Then can run SOSreports and analyze things. If you have hardware support, call them as well and get them involved.
