RHEL 5+Repositories
All,
Over the past few months I have been using Fedora 8 as a testing platform, but have been looking at possibly switching to RHEL 5. The question I have is about update and installing the tool necessary. Some of the tools consists of; Nmap Nessus tcpdump etc. Is there a repository, or repositories that will work well with RHEL 5 for installing and updating these type of apps? Thanks in advance. -p |
Hi,
you first need to have a RedHat id registering in their website, otherwise as far as I know you will be unable to get neither updates nor packages. You can always find extra packages in webs like: http://rpm.pbone.net/ http://www.rpmfind.com |
Yeah,
I was tracking on the requirements for the RH ID for actual upgrades and patches. Basically it's an attempt to keep our tool set up2date via yum, without breaking anything else. R/ Vince |
Check out Centos. It is RHEL with the logos removed. Their repos should have what you need.

Yes there is. This site explains how to add the extra repositories to download the software you need using yum and other methods(http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/).
