RH9 + Xvnc services: need help getting it to go upon boot.

I can't figure out how to run RH9's Xvnc service so it'll boot up on my user account's system bootup sequence. I go to System Settings -> Server Settings -> Services. vncserver is checked. It says Xvnc is stopped. I try to hit start or restart, prompt says: 'vncserver start successful', but it still says in the status window 'Xvnc stopped'. I may have gotten this to work with the root account, but can't remember how. I'm typing this post on the user account so I can't just re-log and find out right away. When I do, I will amend this post with such information.

This is rather key to me as this system will not have a monitor or keyboard/mouse hooked up to it soon. Thank you for your help.

EDIT: Nope, no luck on the root account either. I swore I had it working before, but can't understand the problem now....

If you're using the supplied RH packages the way to get a VNC desktop for your account on bootup is to edit /etc/sysconfig/vncservers, adding a line like this:

This will initialise a desktop for you on X display 4/port 5904.

You will also have to run vncpasswd on the command prompt to set a password for this desktop before rebooting, or VNC will refuse to start.

If you're still stuck, I wrote up some notes on configuring VNC here:
