RH9: Signal 11 issues and Installation woes

Hello:

I've been trying to install Redhat 9 without any success. The anaconda installer would terminate unexpectedly saying install process terminated abnormally --> received signal 11.

What could be the cause of this? I've tried both a CD install (wasted 18 CDs, thinking it was a ISO problem) and an FTP install. They both terminate at the same point of the installation.

I'm running an ASUS A7V motherboard with all parts on the compatibility list.

Any advice on how to proceed?

In 99% of the cases, signal 11 is due to bad RAM modules, overclocked/unstable hardware or damaged software which causes severe run-time errors.

Run memtest86 on your RAM chips.
Verify the MD5 checksums of the downloaded ISO images.
Run your burnt discs through the installer's media-check feature.
