Question RH7.3 install froze at xscreensaver-3.33-4

Hello am newbie to linux lots of win experience some dos. the install is in a local built box tyan main board, p133, 48m ram, 2 gig hd mastered with a 10 gig slaved ( but is disconnected for safty of its os) 2x cd-rom Mitsumi ( I know its slow)but it works. The Install was going fine (390 of 608 completed) then it just hung on the "xsceensaver-3.33-4" package.

Some installs have an option that lets you reboot them and they will pickup where they left off. Does the RH7.3? If so how do I do it? The book I got with it doesn't't say much about install problems except to go the the RH site. I went there but it didn't seam any better than trying to get and answer out of bill gates.

I saw in a different thread that you could check for install errors with key combo and I found <4>hdc: lost interrupt at ctrl+alt+F4 Is this a cause or a symptom?

I hate to boot it if there is a work around

booted box tried to upgrade no luck. tried to install again (custom) install failed again at "xscreensaver-3.33-4" this time install did spit error about bad media. am in process of checking media and i trying it probably is bad.

how do i work around this? is there any way to tell the gui install to skip these screen savers? I haven't tried to down load a cd #2 for this build yet, (witch the file is on ), but that takes a long time on dial up.

thanks

I did get the install up finally. only 6 attempts. I had to tell the install to not install several packages. I also had to make a new boot floopy ( funny thing when you spill coffee on them they quit working ). any way it does run now. I have to config the NIC and some other thing but that is in another post in the newbie fourm. One other thing, Why dosen't the insall have a "SKIP" option when it runs into a bad package?
