RH 90 install hangs at HD detection

I am ttrying to install RH 9.0 on my computer. After booting from the install cd, it hangs after it correctly identifies the quantum fireball plus as30 HD (30 GB - low level formatted and verified functional in WIN98/Maxblast environment.) It detects the hard drive, cdrom drive, both ide ports, corectly identifies the HD. The last thing it says before it hangs is:

hda: host protected area =>1

hda: 58633344 sectors (30020MB) w/1902KiB cache, CHS=58168/16/63,UDMA(100)

It then hangs and goes into lala land.

Any ideas what may be happenning or a work around?

TAI...
David
