Can you see them using
fdisk? Maybe what I posted wasn't understood as I meant it. Try using the command
fdisk within linux to work with your partitions. Once you rewrite the partition table partition magic may work.
Deleting or changing the system id on your RH9 partition will not effect your NTFS partition. If you are getting rid of RH9 entirely you will probably have a swap partition you can remove as well.
Here is a look at what my partitions look like using the 'p' command within fdisk.
Code:
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 523 4200966 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2 524 1046 4200997+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda3 1047 2482 11534670 f Win95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/hda5 1047 1062 128488 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda6 1063 1771 5695011 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda7 1772 2482 5711076 83 Linux
If I wanted to change the last partition (/dev/hda7) to be NTFS I could use the 't' command on partition 7 to change the system id to 7. An Id of 7 means it is a HPFS/NTFS type partition. WinXP would then see this as a NTFS partition and you can format it with Disk Manager. You could also use the 'd' command to remove it and it should appear as freespace. If I were doing it I would try the change first.
