Registration prompt
 

Guys,

I am getting this prompt to remind me to register. I hit no every time.

Does it have any impact on my system?

Will it shutdown someday? I am running a valid copy.

I think you can continue using the OS and it won't shutdown. If you do not register, I don't think you will get any updates or support from Red Hat.

Can anybody else confirm this so I can sleep easier lol?

Linux is not like WinXP or Vista which get locked down if you do not register. You can keep using the OS without registering, but Red Hat won't provide you with any updates and support. You can email the Red Hat people and I am positive they will give you the same response.

I am also posting so that I can assure you that the only drawback if you're not registering with redhat is that you don't get the updates.

But keep in mind that sometimes updates are important like the ones with the security patches.
